De-cartoonifying
I've been trying to move the cut in half things on a bit! Not sure where I'm moving them to, mind...

Woof!
Elle and I just finished off a little dog print that's been needing the final colour for about a month!
Yours for a paltry tenner in our Etsy shoppe!

Finished print
It's not -totally- what I had in mind. I definitely could have done with planning the colours through a lot better! As a process test it answered a few questions, though.
Sorry about the blurry photo. Not much light in the flat when it's gloomy outside! By the way, the paper actually is that colour - 'mushroom' apparently. It's not just bad white balance!

More map screen print - process
This screen printed map thing I'm doing is made up of 6 separations (Or rather it's going to be; 3 more to do) that are all drawn in pencil, straight onto thick tracing paper. I find it far easier to draw straight onto tracing paper than muck around with scanning in and printing back out on to transparencies. I've tried a few different tracing papers and find that the Goldline 112gsm A3 pads are a good option if you're not up for forking out squillions of quids.
These are the 6 separations I drew, then exposed directly onto the screens. I find it nearly impossible to not smudge graphite all over the paper while I'm drawing, but then I suppose I don't have the cleanest style of drawing anyway so I don't worry about that too much.

Etsy shop!
Oh yeah, Elle and I now have an Etsy shop for Archive Print. It's here:
Archive Print Etsy Shop!
At the moment it's got the two prints I posted earlier, including a very nice framed 'Long Ears & Short Ears'. We'll be adding more stuff very soon, including cards, more prints, bags and all that jazz.
(No actual jazz for sale)

Map print - in progress
I've started work on a sort-of test print. I want to know how some ideas I have for Jim's map print will work out so I'm doing a 'dummy print,' to get a feel for the lay of the land!
This is colour 3 of at least 4. I want to do more layers over the top with details and roads and so-on. I'm basically making it up as I go along and treating this print as an extension of my sketchbook.
Anyone who's done any screenprinting before will no doubt be a-gape at my incredibly high-tech set-up!

Map sketches
Some planning sketches:
My friend James has commissioned me to do a large (250mmx500mm) print for him. Choosing a size that's larger than I can fit on my screens has possibly made things harder than they need to be for myself, but there we go!
I'm very much looking forward to getting stuck into making the print as I've not printed this big before. Slightly apprehensive about how on earth I'm actually going to go about it...

Long Ears, Short Ears screenprint
Some more screenprinted animals. Less ambiguous this time.
This is based on a diagram from The Wonder World of Snow and Ice, which has some very neat isotype illustrations (cheers for the lend, Anna!)
Another hand-screenprinted, signed and numbered 2 colour run of 15 that's yours for a paltry tenner - mail me at mail@alexd.co.uk

Ambiguous animal & rider screenprint
I've been enjoying drawing ambiguous animals recently, as per the card below. I suppose this one is some sort of camelweaselllama. With boots.
This is one of a short run of 15 hand-pulled 2-colour screenprints on nice 'wholemeal' A4 card. If you want one, they're £10 each (signed and numbered) - drop me an email at mail@alexd.co.uk

MIX - Colawasps
Here's a short mix of summery, laid back, vaguely funky stuff. One of two I managed to do in the short space of time I had my decks set up today!
No tracklist, I'm afraid, but some featured artists are Pierre Henry, Spirit, Loading Zone, The Bee Gees, Sugarloaf, Las Grecas, James Gang, Small Faces and a few others...

Adj Egy Percet
So my friend Jonny and I decided to do a CD swap. It was about fourty months ago we decided to do this and I've only just got round to doing it. Nevertheless, in the interest of utterly showing-off, I decided to make mine as lavish as possible and put loads of obscure stuff on it. It's a double CD gatefold; I had to stop myself from doing liner sleeves for each CD.
